               2011 West Branch Battle of the Boots 5 v 5 Futsal Tournament

TOURNAMENT RULES

 

1.       Teams are composed of boys and girls entering 7th – 9th or   9th - 12th grades only! No college players or High School graduates must be on a high school roster no later than the 2010 season.                                                                                                                                      

2.       A roster has a maximum of 10 players and 2 coaches 

3.       Each team is permitted to have 4 field players and a goalie on the floor at one time. Substitutions are to be made at mid court on the fly , players must leave field before sub’s enter In – illegal substitutions will result in a yellow card

4.       Shin guards are required and indoor shoes or sneakers (boots) are recommended – NO JEWELERY IS ALLOWED

5.       Visiting team will kick-off first half and home team will kick off second half

6.       Kick-offs are direct kicks and can be played forward or backwards

7.       Teams will be designated home or away on the final brackets, Home team will choose goal to defend to start the match. Color conflict between teams will result in home team wearing pennies ( they will be provided)

8.       All kicks are indirect kicks (except penalty and kick-offs) and opposing team must give five feet from ball. This includes all balls that cross through the side lines they will be put back in play

by the players feet.

9.       Goalkeepers are only permitted to use their hands in the penalty area they may dribble back to their penalty area to use their hands. All balls out of play including beyond the goal end line must be thrown in. The ball cannot go pass the half line through the air it can only roll across the half line. There in NO PUNTING OR DROP KICKING THE BALL by the goalie this will result in an indirect kick outside the penalty area for the opposing team. Goalie must have both feet in the goalie area to grab ball inside the goal box.

10.    There are no off-sides

11.    Red card offense will result in that player being out of the remainder of the tournament and that team will play down the remainder of that game only. Two yellow cards received by a player in the same game result in a red card for that game and the rest of the tournament. Substitutions are allowed on this red card. Yellow cards do not carry from match to match.

12.    Each match consists of two 10minute halves 2 minute break in between. The clock stops for injury and goals scored only. All other stoppage will be the referee’s discretion.

13.    Scoring is as follows:    Win is 3 points

                                               Tie is 1 point

                                               Loss is 0 points

                                               Forfeit results in a 2-0 score    
                                               Red card is minus 3 points from team total

14.    After all teams have played each team in their division. The top two teams in each division will advance to the play-offs based on points. In case of a tie the following will determine who moves on :

A.      Head to head match 1 only ( two teams only , 6 minute halves)

B.      Most goals scored with max of three per game

C.      Least goals allowed

D.      Least carded offenses( yellow 1 and red 2 )

E.       Five player penalty kick

F.       Coin toss  

15.    Tie breakers during play-offs and championship game

A.      Four minute sudden death overtime

B.      Four minute sudden death overtime (no goalies)

C.      Five player penalty kick

D.      Five player sudden death penalty kick with both teams taking same number of shots

16.    All other  FIFA rules apply

17.     All protest will be handled and decided by tournament committee , Handled through the tournament manager
