The West Branch Warriors Soccer Booster Club will be hosting the Fourth Annual West Branch Community Days & Car Show on Saturday and Sunday, August 8 and 9, 2009. West Branch Community Days was established by West Branch Soccer Booster Club to promote the West Branch Area Schools and school community, and to benefit and promote the West Branch School’s Soccer Program. The Booster Club currently provides full funding for the school’s Junior High girls soccer program, as well as supports the varsity soccer program with training camp opportunities, plus a seasonal team yearbook, banquet and other costs and events.
The West Branch Warriors Soccer Booster Club would like to see our event grow and benefit the entire community. We are offering opportunities for West Branch area groups and organizations to participate or affiliate with the Community Days event in order to expand the event scope to include the West Branch community. We also want to hear from people or groups who are interested in participating as vendors or sponsors of special events, demonstrations or programs during the Dream Machine Car Show on August 9. We welcome all ideas and suggestions.
Plans to date include the following events.
SATURDAY, AUGUST 8: "Ride For Kicks" Poker Run – Registration 7-10 AM at West Branch Diner pavilion, Rte 53, Allport-Kylertown Hwy, Allport. Registration fee is $10. Entrants must be 18 years of age to participate. The route will include 5 stations along a scenic drive through the lovely Pennsylvania Wilds. Cash Prizes will be awarded to holders of High and Low hands, plus prize table chances to all participants. Participants will receive an information flyer with a map of the route. The event is open to any and all legally registered vehicles. There may be more than one entry per vehicle. Drivers must provide proof of legal driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance, and must adhere to PA laws of the road.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 9: "Dream Machine" Car Motorcycle and Tractor Show at West Branch School lot. Registration is 8 AM – 1 PM. Awards will be presented at 3:30 PM. D & J Rocks will provide music and event announcer from 1 – 5 PM. The Sunday car show will include local vendors, entertainment, and a variety of contests and activities.
You are also invited to attend a Community Days planning meeting scheduled for June 15, July 6, 13, 20, 27, and August 3 at 7 PM at the West Branch High School.
